Japan’s Supreme Court rules that transgender ‘people’ must be sterilised

https://www.pinknews.co.uk/2019/01/24/japan-transgender-supreme-court/?fbclid=IwAR25T11daryBXl1lDJTMNCr1pSXVhQLn1_DTnIYhAatvNLLcrFXnCYdTt3k

The Supreme Court of Japan has upheld a law which forces transgender people to get sterilised before they can legally change their gender.

The panel of four justices ruled unanimously on Thursday (January 24) to reject an appeal filed by Takakito Usui, a trans man who wants to change the gender on his official documents, Australian outlet SBS News has reported.

Usui was trying to overturn Law 111, which requires any person seeking to change their legal gender to have “no reproductive glands or reproductive glands that have permanently lost function.”

In their decision, the justices said that Law 111 prevented “problems” in relationships between parents and children which could result in “confusion” and “abrupt changes” across Japanese society.

A dangerous park in Illinois removed the basketball hoops. Crime vanashed…

An Illinois park has reported no crimes since they took down basketball hoops in August last year in an effort to deter criminals following a few summer shootings at late-night basketball games.

It has been reported that there is currently no intention to bring back the hoops at the Rock Island park.

Now, Lincoln Park has now been dubbed a “quiet area” by neighbors, whose opinions concerning the hoops have been polarized.

According to WQAD, police confirmed that no crimes have been reported in the six months since the decision to take down the hoops.

Gun violence was reported to police following late-night games in August 2018, and May and August 2019, prompting the removal, as police patrols had to be increased in the area to reduce violent episodes and vulgar behavior.

Slovakia wakes up to the threat of Islam and forbids mosques

Since 2016, Slovak legislation makes it impossible for Islam to become a state-recognized religion. Slovakia has adopted measures making it difficult for Islam to become one of the country’s officially recognized religions, making it the European country with the toughest laws against Islam in all of Europe.

According to official sources, Islam, which was primarily targeted by the law, has a maximum of 5,000 followers in Slovakia.

In 2016, then Prime Minister Robert Fico said in an interview, “I’m sorry, Islam has no place in Slovakia. It is the duty of politicians to talk about these things very clearly and openly. I do not wish there were tens of thousands of Muslims.”
