To everyone who opposes gay marriage and believes your bible gives you the moral authority to dictate the rights of others: Your children will look at you like we look at those who told blacks and women they didn’t have the same rights as white men.

I came across to your thought posted on the blog and I thought to myself: Waww that is a comment of someone whom has been heavily bitten on the subject.
I confess to you that I am a Bible reader and a Bible lover, but I would never enforce it on anyone. This is a very complex subject because the gay marriage campain is not only requesting for civil rights on marriage but also to have the right to marry inside a church, blessed by a priest/pastor/viccar/father, etc. Then comes the question: where is the rights of the church leaders to say No I cant do that, I’m sorry.?
I think many religious people came across wrongly on the subject and this created a very sensitive issue between social groups. Some people dont have bible knowledge enought to bring across the reasons why they disagre on the matter, then it can sound discrimination for those listening.
The dilema here is: one side try to explain spiritual thought, spiritual language of the bible to people that only understand man natural thought, natural mankind languange as they never been introduced to spiritual language before. The result is a recipe for disaster! Both groups will never come to any agreement.
I am also a psychologist to be and as far as I know homosexuality is a behaviour not a genetic desorder. Taking for example this side of the story (the psychological view)then we could say Christians or Bible followers dont agree with the homosexual behaviour. Do you see how the situation now sounds so much less harming?
The Christians are discriminated as much as the homosexuals…How many times I see people’s reaction/face when I say I am a Christian. They judge me even before hearing what I have to say, or before knowing me. They are not interested.
If both sides could just listen to each other and try to understand that Christians are just afraid to the sistem enforce on them and many of them just snap wrongly. Because they know what happen to christians in the past and what is coming to them in the future (according to their biliefs) and for what happen to them in the past no one could blame them for snapping now. It is just a reaction to the thought of not being tortured again…
I could say to you all the reasons why we dont agree with your campain. However if after all the explanations I give you this is still the step you wanna take for your life. Then you have the free will to do so and no one should discriminate you for your choice. That is the true love, the one the Bible teaches so much about.

By your analogy pedofiles should have their rights as well: They have uncontrollabe desires to molest children. This perverted appetite is subject to transformation. I have some basic principles that drive my philosophy
(1)Love and Truth must prevail not Lust and lies.
(2)Homosexuality is a mental disorder perhaps 95% considering biological or medical abnormalities.
(3)You can overcome this disorder. We cast demons out of a homosexual man who did complete turnaround and became a Pastor.
(4) I place very little emphasis on the profession of Christianity anybody can claim to be Christian; My emphasis is on discipleship. Jesus makes disciples of those who receive Him and only disciples can truly be Christians.
(5)Rational thinking allows us to understand design. Man is designed to mate with Woman and not man. A perfectly normal physical body functioning according to original design, has to have a perverted mind possibly influenced by demons in order to use his organs contrary to design.
(6) Finally, yeilding is sin not temptation. “You don’t have to yield if you fight steadfast in the faith; if you have received faith, you will win. Many people don’t know what faith is because they don’t commit to prayer and fasting. Only God can give you the kind of faith that moves mountain. KNOW FOR SURE PRACTICING HOMOSEXUALITY IS AGAINST GOD AND HIS SON AND IS SUBJECT TO JUDGMENT.

If you get the chance please read the Left Behind books they are a great series and they put everything from Revelations in perspective. They are Futuristic Fiction books because they will not happen exactly that way but they could also be classified as horror because as I was reading them I couldn’t help but be fearful of what is to come. I am in a religious battle fighting to hold on. Life is hard, but with God it is easier. My life pulls me away and I just want to get closer to God but the things in this world are horrible! I have become desensetized and I no longer cringe from a gruesome sight on tv I no longer feel disgusted when I see people commit fornictaion and other unGodly acts on tv I feel horrible because my life is a religous roller coaster. Please take time and visit a local church on Sunday I will pray that God helps you find your way. But be warned do not wait for the longer you wait the greater your chance of God hardening your heart where even if you want to be close to him you shall not be able to. Now you may wonder why would a God that we consider loving do such things. God does not want anyone to die but wants everyone to have everlasting life. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16. When did gay become a race? By using this tactic you reduce the life long struggle of people who are judged and even killed by a mere glance at their face. I am not opposed to the gay marriage so do not reply with a bunch of idiotic comments. The gay population in this country is less then 1%. This topic only serves to divert us from what is truly important. A simple solution to this problem is to change the name of the union. You have no problem calling an orange an orange and an apple an apple. The unions are are similar but still different so get over it. We have used the word marriage for thousands of years to mean a union between a man and a woman. We as a society better learn to bend before we break.

Well now that I read Dr. Biblethumpers riveting social and psychological interpretation of humanity. I was forced to reply. What god allows people like you to exist. You people quote a bible that you do not even know the history of at all. Read about this precious manuscript a little instead of just reading from it. A bunch of old men in dark rooms have rewritten the New Testament a hundred times in the last 2000 years. I mean think about it. The most influential person in the history of mankind ,JESUS, and only four books about him. I can find more books about President Clinton on my book shelf than that and I was a life long republican. Against God and his son how many imaginary men do you worship.

@shawn their are plenty of books written about him but the Bible tells his life the way no one else can and it wasn’t written in dark rooms. The apostle Paul wrote some of it while he was imprisoned for preaching the word of God. Their are to many examples to post.

This argument is pointless. There are two sides to this and neither is willing to budge on what they believe. For those that believe God hates gay people and that God wants you to be the judge of them is absured. Christianity is supposedly about forgiveness, and Gods relationship with his children. What goes on between one man and God is none of your business and you have no right to judge. So lets look at that facts, in 2012 our generation is open minded and willing to understand differences unlike the conservatives with there religous veiws. Homosexuality will be excepted in this day and age and those of you who are religious will continue to oppose it and judge others. In my opinon is a better choice to be happy in this life time then to be bitter and unhappy waiting for the a fairy tail of an eternity up on the clouds with angels and white hourses. Well all have our dreams some are of heaven some are of the right to marrie the person you love regardless of there sex. A new generation has been born embrace it or be left behind…
