04-18-2006 Site Update
Redesigned home:
This is something that I have been wanting to do for a while now. I got the inspiration from edublogs.org. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I’m sure I will be tweaking it from time to time as we go forward. Let me know what you think. Comments are always welcome.
Google AdSense:
I am happy with the results of the ads on the front page. We are bringing in anywhere from $0.25 to $1.50 per day. If we are consistant, this will more than cover our hosting costs, and if it keeps up, I will upgrade blogg.com to a dedicated server. So click away!

I did it. God save my soul. There is a Google adblock at the bottom top bottom of the front page. I will keep an eye on things for the next couple of weeks, and post an update with my intentions at that time. Thanks-

04-06-2006 Site Update
Selling Out?
I have been toying with the idea of using Google AdSense on the main page to help with hosting costs. If I decide to do this, it will only be on the front page, and not on any of the users weblog pages.
I feel that I am a hypocrite in some way by doing this, because one of the things that I wanted this site to be is a SPAM free zone for everyone. The only way I can justify doing this is for the good of the site. If I have money coming in, I will be able to upgrade my hosting to a dedicated server, thus allowing more and more users to create weblogs here. This of course would depend on actually generating some money! If I find that Google is not paying off, of course it would be removed, and I would seek other ways to expand the site.
So for now, things are open. The world is welcome to visit and create here (I will leave weblog creation open until we reach 1000 blogs again).
