03-29-2006 Site Update
Invite System:
It seems there are some issues with the Invite System. Sometimes works and sometimes does not… I will keep it active for now, and hopefully get things going soon!
Preening Update:
Still working on it. I have reduced our SQL database size by almost 100MB so far!
Yahoo Site Search:
There is now a search box at the bottom of the main page that does a better job at searching than the google site search did. I will keep testing with it, and would appreciate any feedback (good or bad) that anyone has regarding search results.
Weblog Creation:
I turned things back on for a few days, and we got some new members. I would LOVE to just open this site up to let everyone that wants a blog have one, but if I do that we will start having some serious issues with site operation that will eventually lead to a crash. I am looking into a way that will allow the creation of tens of thousands of weblogs without a performance hit, and will keep you all informed as to my progress. For now, I will open up the site to new accounts from time to time as I preen out unused blogs. Even though blog creation has been turned off, anyone is welcome to email me (rusty AT blogg DOT com) with a request for a new blog, and I will be happy to set one up for you.
Captain Kielbasa:
I will, over the next week or so, add some of the content that we used to have on the OG blogg.com to the front page here at the NEW blogg.com. Stay Tuned!

03-13-2006 Site Update
Preening has begun:
I have started deleting blogs that have never been updated. I will post again when this is complete, and at that time will open up weblog creation to the world again for a while.

03-01-2006 Site Update
Invite system:
We have enabled the invite system. This means that weblog creation is no longer wide open to the world. All registered users should have a few invites to pass out (located under Manage->Invites). We are doing this so that the site can be fine-tuned a bit, and as a social experiment of sorts. So feel free to pass out your invites to whomever you feel might want one. You will all get 1 invite added to your account every 30 days to keep things interesting.
If anyone did NOT get any invites, just shoot me an email ( rusty AT blogg DOT com ) and I’ll hook you up.
