Sitewide Search:
I added a Google sitewide search to the bottom of the main page. I am not sure how well it will work, so it might not stay long! If you have time, give it a try to see how well it finds key words on your weblog. Leave a comment good or bad here, or just email me (rusty AT blogg DOT com).

02-25-2006 Site Update
Invite System:
We are close to reaching the 1000 blog count! With that in mind, I am getting ready to implement an invite system to blogg.com. This will be a good test to see how blogg.com grows from the already established community. With this system in place, only our current users will have the ability to send out invites to others so that they can create a blogg.com weblog. I am still working out the details, and will post an update with when this will take place.

02-22-2006 Site Update
Updates:
- I have added a Babel Fish language translator box to the sidebar of the FAQ and Site Problems pages. This is a test to make sure that it causes no issues and to see if I like it - it is rather large and clunky looking.
- I have marked more accounts as spammers - not very many total so far, maybe 5-6.
That’s it for now.

SPAM
Recently I have marked a few weblogs as spammers. I am doing this because I don’t want this site to become filled with ads for buying this or that. There are plenty of weblogs that allow spam accounts to be created, but this is not one of them. 8-)

02-11-2006 Site Update
What I’m working on
- Chat
- As requested by lost (lost.blogg.com) I will be working on implementing some sort of chat application. There are a couple of options that I have found so far - One being a “shoutbox” style of chat application that would run only on the frontpage (to start with), the other being a separate chat application that users could launch from their own homepages. I’ll keep you all updated as to the status of this project.
- Language Translation
- This is something that I have mentioned before. I am still looking for a good application to integrate with the site. I have thought about using Altavista’s Babelfish Translator box, but have not made a decision as of yet.
What I am thinking about
As I have mentioned in the FAQ, I am now paying for hosting. This has made things better and faster. We are really starting to grow! At this time, we have 677 registered users/blogs. It has taken just over a month to reach this number.
I am certain that we will continue to grow at such a rate until the our space is maxed out. When we get close to 75% disk usage (currently at about 25%), I am going to flip the switch on weblog creation. This will allow for the current users to keep using blogg.com and will give me a chance to do some clean-up and optimization of this site. I will give as much notice as I can before this point, but you can figure weblog creation will be available for another month. I will at that time look at my options, and figure out the best way to procede.
